It is 5:15 pm in the Big Ben. I write this sitting on the British Airways plane to India. I can’t help but think again of the farewell I received yesterday. I was quiet all the while. It was a difficult moment, where I had to decide whether to laugh or cry. I decided to laugh! It was difficult to laugh, but then thinking back of the fun times makes the tough job easy.
I had exactly 25 minutes of time to catch the Bangalore bound plane, as soon as I got out of the plane from Phoenix. It was like Rush Hour. I practically flew and somehow reached the gate just as it was closed. I just can’t imagine what would have happened if I had missed the plane. Without much money in hand it would have turned out to be a terrible experience.
To lighten up matters, this plane is full of Indians; it feels like I am back in Spice Jet! It is almost like a train. We had a delayed start of an hour, which is good as it means a reduction of an hour in my waiting time of five hours at Bangalore.
Zoolander! That movie brings up so many memories. I saw it for the second time on board, and, of course, ‘Friends’. What lies ahead is a mystery!
All through the journey I keep thinking of the people I left behind and those whom I will meet. Has been an old story with me. Starting from Coimbatore, then Madurai, Erode, Calcutta, Tuticorin and finally back again to Coimbatore, it has been a story of parting and meeting. But this time it is hard to accept it. Surprisingly the time I spent outside home was just three months. Maybe it is the people whom you meet that make all the difference. Maybe a poem will suit this occasion , but I am not in the mood! ( I can hear you thanking god!)
Well hoping I don’t become a swine flu suspect, I expect to write next from India, probably, a little while later. Amazing response for the 10 posts till now (What?!). There’s still time though! Catch you later!
