Shockers!

1. I have left India and come to the US now(!)

2. I am back to studying again(!!)

3. I am back to cooking again (no!!)

4. I am back to meeting new people again (oh no!!)

and the biggest one:

5. I am back to posting here again! (this time you go “Oh nooo!!!”)

It has been around 25  days since I came here to Arizona, a place called Tempe, near Phoenix. And the great news is we have already started cooking and (of course) eating. For the concerned, no roommate troubles, no lizards or the danger of getting burnt by an iron box. Except (you don’t get a perfectly sweet deal do you?) for bedbugs here! Thankfully my bed isn’t “infested” with them. Just a bug or two visitin’ an old buddy!

So what am I doing here. I have come to “study” my masters degree with solid state electronics as my specialization. I find many Ooh aahing and at the same time making a point that it isn’t a career-friendly move! I liked it crazily enough to still take it! Let us see what happens next!

Oh by the way there is this lab for Microelectronics.. wait a sec .. I must warn you , since I am back to studying there will be some technical jargon thrown in, you know, to increase my market share.

So as i was explaining, there is this microelectronics lab, where i have to get into the cleanroom for silicon wafer processing. Just been there once, on my first lecture. Have it every monday. Here is how I look when I am in the cleanroom!

Okay now stop laughing! I have to wear that bunny suit in the lab every monday! It tends to get quite claustrophobic in that, when you enter the cleanroom and stay there for more than 2 hours!

The intial days were quite tough, now things have settled down. Guess what! people have signals for crossing too. Cars always wait for pedestrians. Roads are perfectly right angled and are neat. And I so don’t like it! It was so nice to hop onto the street back home and experience the thrill of crossing a busy road, because there are no such rules or signals! There is no crowd on the roads, it is so silent always. It would be so nice if Obama would start a “America shining rath yatra” with loudspeakers blaring! I miss India!

I have made a host of dishes after coming here from north to south, from fried to boiled, burnt to uncooked, salty or too sweet and tested them all with the people in my house! They are fine with it and have given consent for further experiments. Well they do their own testing too, so why not me!

By the way, the most dramatic news was, through these 25 days i obtained information form sources that I had more readers than I knew.  That was good to hear!

I guess you will keep hearing from me more now! I know, but unfortunately for you, I have ready access to the internet these days and so if a bug bites me you will have a new posting to read!
